I love these two photos because you can see Joan taking a picture of me while I take pictures of everyone else:

Quick recap of yesterday’s last CodeAway geek social event, in bullets:
- Thanks to Jason A, we got some hands on time with the Chumby. It’s an extremely interesting gadget that would be idea for a preschooler.
- We had an open discussion on just where to find web development talent. After everybody in the room expressed interest and then retracted after thinking about their upcoming schedule a few things thrown out were
- Craigslist (lots of people looking but talent varies widely)
- eLance (a bit more focused, but you get what you pay for and if you end up with foreign developers/designers be prepared to over communicate)
- Job.Wordpress.net (for Wordpress centric tasks go straight to the niche marketplace where everyone is specifically skilled in the desired platform)
- XHTML Slicer (for those that already have a photoshopped layout this firm exists to slice and dice it into a functional website)
- I got some great recommendations on how to allow visitors to a website to draw images.
- Brief discussions of NanoWrimo, the upcoming PodCampSLC, a rundown of the utah tech events leading up to 2008, and so much more.
- One bowl of M&Ms
- Three pizzas
- Too many rounds of Guitar Hero III to count

You might have already heard that on November 17th we’ll be having the last CodeAway get together for the year. What you may have known is that the same day Utah’s Tier Four is sponsoring paintball for local computer geeks (from 10am to approximately 2pm). More about the event is on the Utah Open Source Foundation website.
It’s important to mention that just because you pwn n00bs in Halo 3 you won’t automatically be l33t here.
