Only one of my photos turned out. Here it is:

Utah Geek/Blogger Dinner 2008 from Flickr
If any of you got any photos, mention it on the comments with a link. This photo was taken before Lars and Jordy showed up, so I’m wishing we had more.

Last week’s CodeAway seemed doomed. Not only did I accidentally plan it on Easter weekend, when family obligations and easter egg hunts draw us away, but Wasatch Wingz went out of business, so we had to move it.
Fortunately, Rocky Mountain Pizza stepped in and provided us with an awesome space AND we had plenty of people show up.
Here are some photos:

Mark Morgan took some photos, too. Here’s one:

You can see all of the photos here:
Due to other geek events and travel, we are skipping CodeAway in April and starting up again in May. As soon as we have a date set, we will let you all know!

Rocky Mountain Pizza
3977 Wasatch Blvd
Holladay, Utah 84124-2247
Sadly Wasatch Wingz is out of business, so we can no longer meet there every month.
Fortunately, Rocky Mountain Pizza has offered to match the price that Wasatch Wingz was giving us. A special thank you to Clint Goudie-Nice, Steve Spencer, Stacey & Dan Vest and Allan Young for coming to my rescue during this whole thing.
We have reserved the back room at Rocky Mountain Pizza, but that doesn’t come free. There is a $15 entry fee, which includes some pizza and unlimited drinks.
Rocky Mountain Pizza has a huge television, so we’ll be able to play Rock Band in style. They also have wi-fi. Don’t forget to bring your Nintendo DS if you prefer to play less rock-based games.

This Saturday, March 15th Digital Thom, Brad Baldwin, and co are throwing the area’s first ever podcamp. What is a podcamp you ask? From the official description:
A PodCamp is a usually free BarCamp-style community UnConference for new media enthusiasts and professionals including bloggers, podcasters, YouTubers, social networkers, and anyone curious about new media.
Registration gets underway at 9am at Neumont University.

A big thank you to everyone who attended last Thursday’s Geek/Blogger Dinner. As informal affairs go this was one of the best in awhile. The nearly two dozen people who dropped by led to some lively and insightful discussion, the food was great (excellent find Laura), and those desperate for their Internet fix could access the free wifi of the Applebees across the street.
These get-togethers are open to all and only cost whatever food you end up ordering. For additional upcoming events keep an eye on the UT Tech Events calendar. Got an event that needs to be listed? Send an email to “create [at] voxpopdesign [dot] com”.
