CodeAway Chat Channel – or C3

Once the chat server flash widget has started type “/nick YourNewNickname” to change your nickname. Make sure it is something unique. At any time type “/help” for available commands. For a quick primer on getting started with IRC channels check out IRCHelp.org.

Interested in talking on C3 without having this page open? There are many IRC clients available. For example, if you wanted to use a Firefox based client ChatZilla is a wonderful choice. You can install it from the official webpage into your Firefox browser. After a restart you can connect and participate in the CodeAway Chat Channel by typing the following at the command line:

/server irc.freenode.net
Once you are connected to the server you’ll need to join the official CodeAway channel. You can do that by typing:
/join #codeaway
